二、课程简介(Course Descriptions)
生物工艺实验将生物加工过程的上游技术、生物反应及下游技术相关单元操作系统地融合在一起,强调应用自然科学和工程学的原理,依靠生物催化剂(细胞或酶)的作用将物料进行加工以提**品或用以为社会服务。要求学生深入了解实验室的科研成果如何转化为工厂实际的生产技术,包括典型的工艺流程和主要的生产设备,熟练掌握生物产品生产的基本技能,加深对已学理论知识的理解。生物工艺实验室可为学生构筑起从学校到社会的桥梁,旨在为生化、制药、食品、发酵等行业培养生产、管理第一线的技术型专业人才。
Bioprocess engineering may be defined as the translation of life-science research into practical products, processes, or systems capable of serving the needs of society. It is a critical link from discovery to commercialization. Current bioprocess engineering is primarily focused on biopharmaceutical products of high value per gram such as interferon(IFN) or human growth hormones(HGH). However, other products of current interest include ethanol, amino acids, organic acids, antibiotics, and specialty chemicals. The object of bioprocess is “Putting Biotechnology to Work”. A key recommendation was the establishment of a coordinated long-range plan of research, development, training and education in bioprocess engineering.
