    Rishikesh P. Bhalerao教授主要从事植物发育生物学研究，在植物细胞伸长与囊泡运输调控机制、多年生植物的环境信号感受机制等研究领域中取得了一系列的突破性成果。先后在Nature、Science、Nature Cell Biology（3篇）、Current Biology（2篇）、Genome Biology、Genome Research、Nature Communication、PNAS（9篇）、Plant Cell（7篇）、Nature Plant、PLoS Genetics、Plant Physiology和New Phytologist等重要学术刊物上发表79篇学术论文，任Plant J、Plant Cell and Environment等植物学期刊编委。
